Social Events
Details of all our events are published here - just click on the date and / or event title for more information. We vary the days of the week when we hold events, to give everyone as much opportunity to attend as possible.
To apply for an event, please click on this link, April, 2025 Newsletter, print off and complete the event reply slip and send, together with the payment by cheque, to the event organiser.
Places for all events are allocated on a first come, first served basis. As soon as the event organiser receives your reply slip and cheque, your name goes on the list for that event. Once the event is full, your name is placed on a reserve list and you will be notified if this is the case.
For those events that are scheduled for later in the year, we just provide the date and the title of the event. Put the dates in your diary, so that when the details are published in the newsletters, you can apply in the usual way. We will update this section with event details to coincide with the timing of newsletters.
If you are unable, for some reason, to attend any of our advertised events, we have added an extra page to our Social Events Section, called "Armchair Excursions" which lists a few suggestions for you to view from the comfort of your armchair!
SOCIAL PROGRAMME - GENERAL INFORMATION
As our membership profile changes we are having to adapt our Social Programme to meet the members’ needs. We are therefore arranging more local events that are self-drive and events that run for less time.
This has the dual benefit of keeping cost under control (i.e. less coach hire costs) and less tiring for the participants.
Further information regarding each event will be published in the Newsletters as we progress through the year.
Once each Newsletter has been issued, please remember to apply early if you do not want to be disappointed as many of our events have a limited number of spaces available and places are allocated on a “first come first served” basis with priority given to Members..
Some events that are fully booked may have a "Reserve List" if there are more members wishing to attend than there are places available, so I would ask that, if you need to cancel your attendance, please contact the Social Team as soon as possible in order that your place can be filled from the Reserve.

As mentioned previously, we are not yet in a position to fully publish our Social Programme for 2025. However, there are two important dates that you can note down now in your diaries:-
